Many people consider college as “the time of their lives” and the era where they “peaked.” I tend to agree now that I’m at the heart of my college career.

But no matter how much people love college, it seems like there is a lack of information for incoming students about the real meaning of being a college student.
College isn’t about getting the grades or planning for a career. College isn’t about success in terms money or power…it’s quite the opposite, really.
College, at it’s most basic level, is about discovering what makes you happy. It’s about finding everything in life that makes you smile and extending that happiness for as long as you want. If it’s done right, college can be a place to expand horizons, remove social stigmas, and rekindle that fiery creativity from childhood.
Now the college (or university) itself is a business, don’t get me wrong. The Administration is there to see that you get a good education and that they get their money; however, with a concentrated student body between the ages of 18 and 24, it is your fellow classmates that will give you that life-altering experience you need. So, look to others and to yourself to create one-of-a-kind memories that will last a lifetime.
